Applications have been announced for an international innovation support program aimed at promoting micro-mobility on K. Barona Street
Riga has become a partner in the European Institute of Innovation and Technology’s (EIT) City Mobility Initiative, and applications have been announced for the first support program for entrepreneurs called Raptor Pilot 2. The funding is intended for innovative micro-mobility solutions in and around Krišjāņa Barona Street.
“In order to create a greener and more attractive living environment, with cleaner air and reduced car-generated noise in Riga, it is essential to create conditions for a change in the transportation habits of Riga residents, encouraging the use of bicycles, scooters, and other micro-mobility tools. The new support program is a great opportunity for creatively thinking entrepreneurs to develop innovative products or services that improve the micro-mobility infrastructure on Barona Street and its surroundings,” explains Inese Andersone, Chairperson of Riga City Council’s City Development Committee.
The Raptor Pilot 2 funding is open to various business ideas, including smart infrastructure solutions, safer infrastructure, storage solutions for micro-mobility devices (bicycles, electric scooters, etc.), and creating resident-friendly environments.
